We begin by removing the old fence. When possible we don't trash it or ship it to a landfill, we bring it to a recycler.
Then we work with the land you have: ups, downs, trees, walls, etc.
Except fences built on walls, our post holes are generally 36" deep. Posts are leveled and set in thoroughly mixed concrete so they don't drop, shift, or waver. Sadly, not everyone sets this way.
Our rails for a privacy fence are standard milled 2x6 with aluminum inserts or better. Rails are routed into the posts not screwed in. Screw in rails can tear away over time and wind or children can knock out entire sections by pushing on them.
Fence boards are three quarter inch thick or better. Unfortunately the lowest priced fences on the market skim on boards when you don't know the difference.
Our boards sit inside the bottom rail almost two inches. The top rail caps the boards the same way. Boards do not fall out or slip and they are not glued together as big box store fences often are.
Privacy fence boards are tongue and groove with no gaps to see through, that's why it is true privacy. The T&G interlocks the boards, the top and bottom rails interlock the sections, and the posts interlock the rails.
You get the picture. Go Vinyl Fences go in straight, level, solid, and they stay that way.
Stepping Fences
Below is a stepped fence. It drops 30 inches over a 50 foot run. Each section steps down by about 5 inches. Then it drops dramatically, 72 inches over three sections.
Fences that step down leave gaps under the sections. We had to custom build the dramatic drops using 8 foot tall sections. On the left side of the section the fence is 8 foot tall. On the right side it's only 6 foot tall.
